Why Lykke Knit?

Lykke Strik recently changed to Lykke Knit – why?

I have made the decision to change the name of my dear brand, Lykke Strik, to Lykke Knit, as I believe this is the best choice for my business in the long run.

Lykke Strik began as a small project back in 2020, and in just five years, it has grown far beyond what I ever dared to dream of. The name I originally chose was purely Danish: Lykke comes from my last name, Lykkegaard, and Strik naturally described what I created – the perfect combination.

A little over a year ago, I started translating my patterns into English every time I released a new one. At the same time, I switched to writing exclusively in English on Instagram. It was a big step, but I realized it was the best way to accommodate my growing international audience. Since then, even more customers from around the world have joined in, and I began reconsidering my brand name.

To make my brand more recognizable and easier to find for everyone searching for my designs, I have chosen to replace "Strik" with "Knit".

But Lykke remains. It holds great meaning for me – not only because it is part of my last name, Lykkegaard, but also because "lykke" means happiness in Danish. And the joy of knitting is what matters most to me. That will never change!

That’s why my new name and slogan are: Lykke Knit – "Modern Knits, Timeless Joy"
